Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that utilizes a state of hypnosis to help you more easily access your subconscious programming to disrupt negative patterns, empowering you to realize your full potential.

What is hypnosis?


Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed, theta brain-wave state that we all access naturally every day. In the 20 minutes upon waking and the 20 minutes before falling asleep, we are in a theta state – this includes when we engage in everyday tasks such as brushing our teeth or driving a familiar route.

There are many reasons someone might be interested in working with a Hypnotherapist. I specialize in the following areas:

  • Discover the depth of connection between mind and body. In cases where treatment for a physical condition has not proven to be effective, there is often a subconscious component that needs to be acknowledged and reprogrammed.

  • Identify your limiting beliefs and embody the secure, successful person you wish to be.

  • Understand how your life experiences have uniquely shaped your capacity for connection and identify the reasons you attract certain people. Determine the qualities of a healthy partnership you want and instill the beliefs of worthiness to attract your desired partner.

FAQs

  • You are fully in control while in hypnosis. You can speak, move, and are not limited in any way, including what you wish to share. If you do not want to answer a question or feel uncomfortable in any way, you are fully able and encouraged to express this. You can open your eyes and be out of theta state at any point you choose.

  • Typically, hypnotherapy is not covered under insurance health benefits, although it could be covered under a Health Spending Account if this is how your plan is structured. Be sure to check with your Insurance Company to confirm if your coverage includes a Health Spending Account.

  • The number of sessions you may need will vary depending on the issue we are working on. For some clients, 3 sessions will be sufficient; for others, we may work together for over 6 months. Hypnotherapy is intended to have an end date. Together, we will set and continually reassess your therapy goals as we go; these goals will be used as a tool for you to return to at any time.

  • Since hypnosis is a theta brainwave state, anyone can drop into it; we all do it spontaneously every day! There are different techniques and practices used to induce the state of hypnosis; with the information gathered during our intake, I will be well-equipped to facilitate your personal journey with hypnosis.

  • Hypnosis helps people address a broad scope of physical and mental health issues. However, for individuals with schizophrenia, severe depression, or those experiencing suicidal ideation, hypnosis would not be recommended. Some ongoing health conditions may also require a medical referral before using hypnotherapy.

  • Whether you are facing a new struggle or experiencing a period of success, hypnotherapy can be tailored to your needs to provide additional support to ensure you are aligned with your goals.
